WHAT IS ASHWAGANDHA? Ashwagandha root comes from evergreen shrubs that grow in Asia and Africa and has long been used as an adaptogen supplement in Ayurvedic medicine to help the body adapt to stress by lowering cortisol and promoting adrenal health. The Ashwagandha roots have a distinctive flavor classified by Ayurveda as Tikta (bitter), Katu (pungent) and Madhura (sweet)

DIVERSE HEALTH BENEFITS: Adaptogen powder may support relaxation by reducing stress levels, and it may also help with attention, clarity, mental focus, and encourage deeper, more restful sleep; restorative supplements may also benefit athletic performance by helping to build muscle mass and strength. Ashwagandha may help balance hormones in women and may help men to boost testosterone levels and male fertility

EXPECT A ROBUST FLAVOR: Ashwagandha powder has an earthy flavor with natural, slightly bitter notes which can be added to warm drinks, smoothies, and baked goods. Powdered ashwagandha pairs well with other strong flavors such as cacao, black tea, tart berry, and peanut butter

CONCENTRATED POWDER FORM: Ashwagandha is often taken in pills, which some folks find difficult to swallow and hard to digest. Powdered ashwagandha solves that problem. The powder is easy to take once a day, absorbs more quickly than capsules, and can become a healthy part of your relaxation rituals

COMMITTED TO YOUR SATISFACTION: We take great care in sourcing the highest quality ingredients directly from small organic farms to offer you potent and pure premium organic ashwagandha root powder. Never any added sugars, artificial ingredients, or fillers. Love it or your money back guaranteed

It is very hard to get pass the extreme bitter taste. I added fruit coconut milk and still could not get rid of the bitter taste. I have never tasted anything as bitter as this product.I must admit - the tast of this powder is .. very extremely hard to handle. Other that that it's a pretty good product, effect is usual for ashwangha products - calming, better sleep. Powder is very well grained, better to dissolve it in something liquid or add to the food. This product contains very finely ground ashwagandha root powder. It mixes with no issue easily into drinks and food. It does however have a stronger flavor than others that I've tried. I'm not sure I would order again as I have found other methods of consuming the supplement.I've been taking ashwaganda regularly for years. It's an adaptogen, which helps counter physical and mental stress and supports balance. This bulk powder is a great value compared to capsules, and seems high quality. However, it isn't very palatable. You can cook with it or put it in a smoothy and you won't notice it, but you can't sprinkle it on yoghurt, and it's too fine to make into a tea. Another alternative is to fill your own capsules. If you can find a convenient way to ingest it, it's a very cost-effective, worthwhile supplement. This product has a robust earthy odor that can be overpowering. However, there is no need to use it a lot because it will take over the taste. I used it in my tea with other spices; the flavor was so intense that I had to start over. Also, the packaging could have been smaller; even without the product settling, the bag was huge, so there was some waste. I am going to get some gel caps for the power. I think for me, it would be a better way to ingest. Overall because of the benefits, In my personal opinion, I think this is a good investment.I never tried this in other forms before, these do help with my mood. But after trying this in powder form I think I'm going to go with capsules. I have a gram scale and vegan capsules which I plan on using till I run out. This is very bitter if you decided to take by mixing it in water. This is a very fine powder that blends quite well in a shaker bottle or blender. Flavor isn't overpowering, but I would suggest adding it with a strong other flavor to mask weird aftertaste. This is a very finely ground ashwagandha root powder and It blends easily into beverages and foods. This brand has a stronger flavor than others that I've tried and it's very bitter. I don't mind it because I mix a teaspoon into my 64 ounce daily vitamin iced drink that I prepare each morning, it takes me 3-4 hours to drink it and because of it's size, so I can mix some things in there that will be covered up by the fruity ingredients.Ashwagandha is a good supplement to add to your diet because it can positively impact so many conditions like stress and anxiety, low energy levels, and impaired cognitive abilities, while boosting immune system function. There have been dozens of clinical studies that have proven its effectiveness. When you shop for ashwagandha supplements, you're sometimes advised to look for those that are made from the root of the plant or the whole plant AND have a declared withanolide content. The withanolides are the compounds that contain ashwagandhas healing properties and there needs to be a minimum of 0.3 - 1.5 percent withanolid content for a product to have any health benefits. The content varies between 2%-10% withanolides, depending on methods of extraction and parts of the plant used, among other factors. Withanolides are concentrated in both the roots and leaves.Ashwagandha is effective at decreasing symptoms of stress and anxiety and most benefits result from dosages of 500–600 mg per day (at 2.5% withanolide content). The daily dosage on this product is one teaspoon (3 grams) which is 3,000mg. - withanolide content percentage UNKNOWN, but in a 3,000mg dose I would hope it's fairly substantial. (But, a lot can affect the percentage and I'm no scientist, I'm just guessing)I couldn't find a disclosure of withanolide percentage anywhere on this package or Ad page for this product, but I do use a lot of herbs and spices for their medicinal properties and very few have a content analysis of the active compounds on the package, yet they work and work well. And, this brand is less expensive than some which do disclose the potency, so that's fair. I make some herbal mixtures myself, drying and preparing herbs that have very potent medicinal properties, but I couldn't give you any mathematical breakdown of the active ingredients. So, in my opinion if you are taking ashwagandha as an overall health enhancement or preventative and not targeting any specific ailment or disease, adding this powder to a daily smoothie or other food is beneficial and reasonable - ashwagandha is an adaptogen that can normalize many systems in the body. In my opinion this is a good quality, well-packaged ashwagandha powder and I think it's a very reasonable price for what you're getting. However, If you've made an informed decision to treat a specific illness with ashwagandha root powder, I personally might (and do) pay more for a disclosure of withanolide percentage so that the exact, measured dosage can be taken every time. (If you're treating a condition and you determine a dosage that works for you, you don't want to have to re-figure everything every time you buy a new batch of powder with no disclosure on it, every package could be different, for one thing).I began taking ashwagandha powder along with St. John's Wort to replace prescribed medications that I'd been taking for decades and they've been working very well for me. So, because this was a serious decision, I'm using dose regulated brands daily, (I'm treating it exactly as I did my prescribed medication) but I'm also using powdered ashwagandha supplements like this one without the potency disclosure, to use in drinks and recipes for myself and my family. Products WITHOUT the disclosure should be about half the price of those that do have a potency disclosure. I don't worry much about going above the 500mg dose (2.5% withanolide) because the possible, negative side effects are mild - upset stomach, nausea, (I haven't experienced any). Many sources do advise that certain individuals may want to avoid this herb - those with autoimmune disease (ashwagandha increases production of immune cells and people with autoimmune disease already have an overactive immune system), who are pregnant or breastfeeding and those who have certain conditions like diabetes, high or low blood pressure, stomach ulcers, or thyroid disorders. If you believe in preventative measures for good health, ashwagandha is one of the best supplements you can take.
